Group Homes at The Arc

The Arc of Haywood operates three group homes in Haywood County—Maple, Solitary Meadows, and Farley. Each home provides supervised residential care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a setting designed to function as a genuine home environment.

Each resident has their own room and access to trained staff 24/7.

The goal of each group home is to build independence and practical skills through individualized, evidence‑based supports that are aligned with each person’s unique needs and goals.

For some residents, our homes offer long‑term stability that may span decades. For others, they serve as a transitional step toward greater independence. All admissions are voluntary, and residents retain the freedom to leave or transition whenever they choose or feel ready.

Our group homes operate as teaching facilities with a clear objective: maximizing independence for each person we support. We reject a one‐size‐fits‐all approach; services are tailored to each resident’s specific strengths, needs, and aspirations.
