We believe that everyone deserves the dignity and purpose that comes with a job. Supported Employment Services are designed to help individuals with IDD find and maintain competitive, meaningful employment in the community.
Our Supported Employment Staff function as career coaches, beginning with a discovery process that identifies each individual’s unique strengths, skills, and career aspirations. We provide job development, résumé building, interview coaching, and on‑site job coaching to ensure a smooth transition into the workplace. We partner with local businesses to create inclusive hiring opportunities, offering ongoing support to both the employer and the employee to foster long‑term success, job satisfaction, and career growth.
Supported Employment is not a sheltered workshop or a temporary placement. It is a commitment to competitive, integrated employment with ongoing support that evolves as the individual advances in their career.
The employment services offered through The Arc of Haywood are available to support both the employee and the employer. We want the employment relationship to provide success and satisfaction for everyone involved.
Our staff are available on site to provide all of the supports the employee needs to make them a valuable addition to your staff:

Your gift provides the support, opportunities, and community people need to live full, independent lives.
