Community Networking

Community Networking supports individuals as they identify and engage in community activities that are aligned with their personal interests, passions, and goals. Meaningful lives are built on authentic relationships and active participation in community life. Our team facilitates connections to local clubs, volunteer opportunities, recreational sports, faith‐based groups, and cultural events. Our aim is to help individuals expand their social circles, develop natural supports, and establish themselves as valued contributors within the broader community.

Rather than placing individuals in generic activities, we take a personalized, outcome and interest-focused approach. Our staff work collaboratively with each person to understand their interests and aspirations, and then actively facilitate introductions and sustained engagement with community groups and opportunities. The goal is to build authentic, reciprocal relationships and natural supports that extend beyond formal service hours.

Community Networking is not a transportation service nor is it a day program. It is a personalized, 1:1 outcome‐focused effort to build authentic community connections that endure beyond the support hours. The service currently is only available to individuals who have NC Innovations Waiver.
