Community Living

The goal of this program is to help these individuals learn to be as independent as possible.  One of the most rewarding aspects of working with these amazing individuals is when they meet one of their goals and are able to accomplish a task on their own with out prompting from a staff member.  Staff is available 24/7 if the individual has a problem and needs assistance.  Each year they are evaluated and goals are adjusted according to what they have accomplished over the year.

The individuals work diligently to overcome obstacles to their independence and prove how capable they truly are.  The Arc of Haywood County helps the individuals be active in the community, they attend many community events, volunteer and are gainfully employed.
